PACKAGING PREMIÈRE – SHAPING LUXURY
The luxury packaging show returns to Milan with more than 200
15‒17 May 2018
MiCo Milano Congressi
Milan, 10 May 2018 ‒ Everything is ready for the second Packaging Première, Italy’s
only luxury packaging event, which will be back in Milan from 15 to 17 maggio in a new
and bigger venue. In fact, the show will be hosted by MiCO Milano Congressi, a
multifunctional space that has made a name for itself on the trade fair scene with major
events and sector-specific congresses. The facility forms part of the modern, regenerated
CityLife neighbourhood, renowned for its buildings designed by famous architects and the
site of Italy's biggest city shopping district.
Rather than a trade fair, Packaging Première aims to be a fundamental meeting place for
designers, manufacturers and major luxury brands who recognise the potential of
packaging when it comes to exclusive communication, aware of the changes taking place
on the high-end stage.
The 8000-m 2 space will host 203 exhibitors from twelve different countries, 106 of
whom will be attending for the first time.
The three-day event will include seventeen conferences involving important
representatives from the various sectors, which will explore the show’s key themes:
“cosmetics & fragrances”, “food specialities” and “wine & spirits”.
“The number of exhibitors has doubled compared to the first year and we’re extremely
satisfied with this great result. This illustrates the extent to which packaging has become
an essential and fundamental element in every sector,” explains Pier Paolo Ponchia,
founder and chairman of Packaging Première. “In addition to the venue, the innovations for
this year include a large number of conferences with leading professional figures. All this
makes Packaging Première a truly unique selective event.”
PACKAGING PREMIÈRE PAPER ART GALLERY
Another big new feature for this second year is the Packaging Première Paper Art
Gallery ‒ an exclusive space devoted to displaying paper artworks created by five
internationally renowned artists:
Elena Borghi – designs and develops displays for shop windows, fairs, events, interior
design, advertising and photoshoots. She draws on walls, paper and any other surface
that can take her black outlines.
Caterina Crepax – an interior design who uses paper to sculpt sumptuous clothing with
surprising details, transforming them into sophisticated objects of desire. She loves the
ironic play of metamorphosis, of the transformation of paper materials into fine “fabrics”.
Elisabetta Bonuccelli – origami entered her life in an unexpected fashion, due to a series
of fortunate events. In 2014 she opened a creative space devoted to her paper projects for
events, installations and displays, photographic shoots, packaging and communication.
Lorenzo Petrantoni – his images are inspired by his passion for graphic art and his
interest in the 19th century, using engravings taken from old manuals and period
dictionaries. His unmistakable illustrations bring otherwise forgotten words, events and
characters back to life. He has won numerous prizes and worked with the most important
international newspapers and magazines.
Patricia Sartori – artist and graphic designer. Permeated by the dual nature of energetic
abstract expression and precise graphics, she manages to transcend them in balanced
compositions, in keeping with her sense of elegance. Shades of red, black and white, so
dear to the masters of Italian design, often impregnate her canvases.
